Fuse Director named as a national leader in public health research
Ashley Adamson, Professor of Public Health Nutrition at Newcastle University has been appointed as a NIHR Senior Investigator.
Professor Adamson, who is the Director of Fuse and also the NIHR School for Public Research, is one of 43 award holders joining the college of Senior Investigators, following its 11th annual competition.
NIHR Senior Investigators are eminent leaders within their field who make an exceptional contribution to clinical and applied health and social care research. They provide visible leadership within NIHR and play a vital role in how future health challenges are addressed.
NIHR Senior Investigators act as a key source of advice to the Department of Health and Social Care’s Director of Research and Development and Chief Scientific Adviser.
Professor Adamson is one of six leaders in public health research who will join a network of experts containing almost 200 active NIHR Senior Investigators.
Professor Adamson said: "I am honoured to be appointed as a NIHR Senior Investigator and join such respected colleagues."
