Funding opportunities
The Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP) Research Challenge Fund
A new Research Challenge Fund has been launched to support collaborative, small-scale, high-potential projects that bring together expertise from across the region to address some of the most pressing health and care challenges facing our communities.
The Newcastle Health Research Partnership (NHRP) Research Challenge is being delivered through a collaboration between NIHR partners in our region, including the Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria, Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Newcastle HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) and the Patient Safety Research Collaboration (PSRC) - bringing together expertise from across the region to support innovative, partnership-based research.
The Challenge is designed to strengthen collaboration between partners and generate innovative research that delivers real-world impact.
The Research Challenge aligns with the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Health Plan for England and will support projects that contribute to its three key shifts, helping to create a healthier future through research and partnership working. Projects are also encouraged to address health inequalities and develop proposals that outline how planned activities will target groups experiencing poorer than average health access or outcomes.
