Hayley submitted in February 2016 following her return from maternity leave. As a Drug and Alcohol Practitioner, she balanced working as a clinician and studying for her PhD.
Dr Alderson is now employed as a Research Associate at Newcastle University’s Institute of Health & Society. She is working on the SOLID project, a pilot feasibility study of interventions to decrease risky substance use (drugs and alcohol) and improve mental health of Looked After Children and Care Leavers aged 12-20 years.
The full title of Hayley's PhD is: Exploring stakeholder engagement in public health commissioning: A case study of local alcohol services and was funded by a Primary Care Trust (now Clinical Commissioning Group).
