Peer Research Community of Practice

  • Venue: Collaborative Learning Room 2.16, Frederick Douglass Centre, Newcastle Helix, NE4 5TG
  • Start: Wed, 17 Jan 2024 10:30:00 GMT
  • End: Wed, 17 Jan 2024 12:30:00 GMT

Hosted by Fuse and NIHR ARC NENC, the Community of Practice was launched last year to bring together anyone in the region with an interested in peer research from a public health perspective, to ‌share resources, identify key ingredients and gaps, and explore how we could address these gaps. Peer research enables practitioners and community members to become actively involved in research to directly affect the outcomes. They add an ‘authentic’ voice to research and foster closer collaborations between academics and those impacted by the research findings.

The third meeting of the network is in person and will explore training needs and available training course for peer researchers, including support from the voluntary and community sector. Expect insightful presentations, and interactive world café discussions to inform future training resources.  For more information on previous meetings, have a look on our developing repository: https://arc-nenc.nihr.ac.uk/nihr-arc-nenc-peer-research-community-of-practice-repository/
