To fully exploit the potential of SPHR’s collective expertise and collaborative ethos, members are currently developing major School-wide programmes aimed at addressing three major public health challenges:

  •     Alcohol
  •     Ageing Well
  •     Health Inequalities

Fuse is contributing to the following school-wide programmes:

Reducing alcohol-related health harms in an English contex:

  • Work Package 1: New technologies for reducing excessive alcohol use
  • Work Package 2: Developing screening and brief interventions in police custody settings
  • Work Package 3: Risky sexual behaviour and alcohol misuse in young people

Ageing Well: an integrated public health approach to optimise health in older age groups:

  • Inequitable access to preventive and therapeutic health interventions for older people and the consequences of Intervention-Generated Inequalities (IGIs).
