This is an opportunity for a talented researcher trained in qualitative methods to undertake the day-to-day running of the study. You should have experience of conducting high quality applied health research and an interest in improving access to healthcare and health outcomes for children and young people from communities currently underrepresented in applied health research.
With support and supervision from our research team, you will liaise with our partners to co-ordinate recruitment, data collection and dissemination. You will conduct one-to-one or paired semi-structured interviews or group activities with children and young people, and use creative methods, for example graphic vignettes, storytelling via drawing and writing, graffiti wall activities to facilitate communication and accessibility for children and young people. You will conduct semi-structured interviews with primary caregivers and healthcare staff working in paediatric critical care and surgery. You will arrange our advisory group meetings, project management meetings and a creative workshop.
To be appointable at Research Associate level, you will hold a PhD and have significant mixed methods research experience.

Assistant / Associate Professor in Sociology (Health)

Durham University are looking to appoint an Assistant or Associate Professor to join their existing research group in Health and Social Theory. The approach of our group is a multi-level one, drawing together expertise around global trends such as: climate change adaptation and environmental degradation; national and local health trends and service delivery systems; neighbourhood and community-based health promotion programmes; health professions; and the study of individual health behaviours. Their research combines interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise around ageing; professions and work; behaviours; and community and place.
Candidates with expertise in theories of race and racism and intersectionality would be particularly welcomed.
