Senior Research Associate - University of Cambridge

The University of Cambridge is looking to recruit a senior researcher with an interest, experience, and expertise in dietary assessment, nutrition composition tables and application to nutritional epidemiology, particularly with a focus on population sub-groups in the United Kingdom and non-European populations globally.

The primary role of this post is to lead on the development, evaluation, and application of dietary assessment tools that are culturally appropriate for ethnic groups, focusing initially on South Asian populations in the UK and also in four South Asian countries i.e. India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The role will include aspects of both developmental work and implementation.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and be experienced in using dietary assessment tools in large-scale epidemiological and public health studies. Required expertise will be on methodology of dietary assessment and its application in diverse populations, initially focusing on South Asians in the UK and South Asia.

The post will be suited for an experienced research nutritionist, public-health nutritionist or nutritional epidemiologist interested in health science research in populations with cultural and dietary diversity.

The role is based in the MRC Epidemiology Unit which is a department of the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
