The Fuse Behaviour Change programme has recently refreshed its leadership and is being led by Vera Araujo Soares (Senior Lecturer, Newcastle University) and co-led by Angela Rodrigues (Senior Lecturer, Northumbria University) and Emma Giles (Reader, Teesside University).
The programme currently provides a platform for research into the development, evaluation, and translation of public health interventions aimed at supporting people within their contexts (e.g. health care professionals) to change or enact behaviours (e.g. enact NICE guidelines) aimed at improving health and wellbeing. Its vision is to research areas which align to national and local public health priorities, with the aim to translate findings for policy and practice partners in the NHS, local government and other public, private and voluntary organisations. Knowledge exchange with these stakeholders is key to the programme work, it’s believed that knowledge created by distinct stakeholders can be crucial in shaping future knowledge creation and intervention development. The programme envisages a partnership where different stakeholders will bring distinct but equally valid contributions to resolve an identified issue.
As part of the refresh and renew of the programme, a meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th March 2-4pm, Northumbria University, Room E101, Coach Lane Campus West, Newcastle, NE7 7XA
The is open to all with an interest in Behaviour Change and is an opportunity to help inform the research of the programme and to network with academic and practice colleagues across the region.
