Collaboration for Health: Showcasing Partnerships Between Research and VCSE

Celebrating and showcasing research partnerships in our region. This is the third event coordinated by Newcastle Health Research Partnership and Fuse, the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health with the support of NIHR Applied Research Collaboration NENC, VONNE and Connected Voice Haref.
We will be celebrating and showcasing research partnerships in our region. At the event you will:
- Find out about the ‘Community Research Awareness’ initiative and how to get involved as a community group or PPIE/research practitioners.
- Hear from VCSE organisations, community groups and research partners about research projects.
- Share good practice, the challenges and solutions when delivering community-based research.
- Have the opportunity for networking and discussions with participants and speakers.
Fuse, the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health, will share how, working in partnership with a local place based charity, researchers, VCSE organisations, NHS Foundation Trusts and local communities collaborated to address food insecurity among people living with severe mental illness. It will highlight the challenges and enablers of partnership working, and the role of co-production in developing sustainable solutions.

You will also hear about:
- The launch of ‘Community Research Awareness’ resources by Creating Connections and co-developed by Involved and Equal.
- ‘Let’s Talk Ageing Research: Co-developing a Community Resource’ with NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre, Connected Voice Haref and the Rabta group from the Bilal Jamia Masjid Mosque, Elswick. A community resource was created to raise awareness of research on ageing, sarcopenia and multiple long-term conditions and encourage interest in research opportunities.
- NIHR Applied Research Collaboration NENC who will share how researchers, VCSE organisations and local communities have worked together on research that aims to address inequalities in health and care.
- VONNE will introduce their new research partnership officer and provide a reminder of the research support available.
There will be break-out discussions with organisations to share ideas and look at what people need to develop this work together.
