North East Medical Sociology Group - call for papers and save the date

The North East Medical Sociology Group is currently planning its next half day seminar which will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 April at Northumbria University, City Campus.

The keynote speaker on this occasion will be Professor David Byrne, Director of Postgraduate Studies in the School of Applied Social Sciences at Durham University. He will speak on the topic, Evaluating Complex Interventions. Professor Byrne is also a Fellow of the Wolfson Institute of Health and Wellbeing, and during his career has held many positions of responsibility on national and regional organisations.  In 2012, he received the Social Policy Association (SPA) Special Recognition Award.

The Group is again offering researchers in the North East working in the field of medical sociology the opportunity to make a short presentation about their research.  Two-three presentations will be selected.

If you are interested in submitting an abstract, this should be of no more than 250 words.  Abstracts should be sent to Sue McAsey by Friday, 30 January.  Contributions are invited from early career researchers and PhD students as well as established academics.

Even if you are not currently interested in presenting your work, please make a note in your diary to come along to this event.  Further details and booking information will be circulated in due course.
