Fuse associate wins award for obesogenic environments article

Dr Tim Townshend has won an award from the Royal Society of Public Health for the most downloaded article of 2014 for his paper Obesogenic environments:exploring the built and food environments.

The article, co-authored by Fuse staff member Dr Amelia Lake, was the most downloaded in the journal Perspectives in Public Health. Tim was presented with the award at their annual dinner in London on 13 January.

Dr Townshend is a Fuse associate and Director of Planning and Urban Design at Newcastle University. He has presented at, and been involved in the organisation of, Fuse events including the Quarterly Research Meeting (QRM) Creating Healthy Places in the North East: the Role of Housing.

Tim will present at the next Fuse QRM entitled Reuniting Planning and Health on Thursday 7 April.
